About

We are a Masonic affiliated club based in the greater Chicago area. The club is chartered under the Grand and Glorious Order of the Knights of the Creeping Serpent based in the Philippines, who is under the auspices of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines. Our membership consists of Master Masons who are members of recognized Most Worshipful Grand Lodges in the United States, Canada, and/or the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines. The Grand and Glorious Order of the Knights of the Creeping Serpent has chartered Chapters in the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and various provinces in the Philippines and is based in the National Capital Region (NCR), Manila, Philippines.

The first Grand and Glorious Order of the Knights of the Creeping Serpent was founded in 1960 and organized by Freemasons of Oriental Lodge #20 in California. But due to issues which we are not able to discuss here, the Order was later disbanded. The Order was later reconstituted in the Philippines on May 1st, 2001 under the supervision of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines. We count several Past Grand Masters of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines as members and former leaders of the Order, known as Royal King Cobras.

Black Mamba was the second Chapter created by the Order in 2009 and has resided in the greater Chicago area the entire time.

Both Black Mamba Chapter and the Order promote charitable acts. These include, but are not limited to, alleviating child hunger, child educational needs, collegiate scholarships/grants, clean drinking water, and financial assistance to other charitable organizations both in Illinois and in the Philippines.

Black Mamba Chapter meets monthly. New members are conferred on April 30th every year in the Philippines as part of the yearly reunion/annual meeting. All candidates from the various chapters of the Order will be conferred together as a single class. Each class will be assigned a Greek letter as their class name. Alpha class was conferred in 2001. Currently, PSI class will be conferred in 2023 with Omega in 2024.

As of 2017, Black Mamba Chapter has been formally recognized by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois.
